This is a detailed view of the first of them. His tail is laying down and his upper body is straight!
Pasting description of the main Deviation:
Here they are, the most complex and time-consuming plushies I ever made! It’s Ulisses, a very detailed dragon OC.
Have some facts:
They consist of 468 single fabric pieces total
Each of them is unique: Their tails are on opposite sides of the body and one of them is raised, one plushies’ upper body is straight while the other is facing towards the side~
The claws are the body part with the most pieces involved: 144! It took 12 hours just to handsew them (without cutting or machine sewing time)
It took 17.5 hours to create the pattern, 3.7 hours to create and stitch embroidery designs for the eyes and scale details - the total working time is 87 hours.
Number of fabric pieces for respective body parts for both plushies:
Tail: 126
Wings: 24
Main body: 82
Head: 92
Number of green stripes (tiny!): 66
Number of grey spikes: 53 (--> consisting of 106 fabric pieces)
The wings are poseable thanks to pipe cleaners and foam on their inside!
They are 20cm tall, 15cm wide and their tail length is 19/20cm.

Needless to say, my fingers were really showing all that handsewing. I had to work with a time limit too, they had to be ready to be an epic christmas gift!
What should I say... xD I am very happy that they are completed and that they turned out so beautiful. <3 Now every other plushie seems easy compared to them, haha.
I have learned a lot from this project, especially about planning even more ahead to find out which way I should work to save time and also that I have a whole lot of endurance. Yay! xD
I tried something new and also filmed the plushies a bit to give a better view of them - we’ll see how that turned out once I get to edit it.

I like handsewing, but I don't think I'd have the patience for that many pieces. Kudos! The results are truly astounding.
